The anticipation has been there for quite some time as rumours of "something" with a touch screen that Apple is building has been there for over a year. We shall see what this Apple's latest creation is in an event on January 27th at San Francisco's Moscone West Convention Center.

Rarely has the market been developed with so much pent-up demand such as this one. We are just building positive momentum off a swift and dramatic recession where retailers have cut back on inventory/new products so much that even if you want to spend money on something out there ... there is not much that tickles the fancy !

Having observed the Consumer Electronics market for some time, as we saw the introduction of the iPhone from Apple that is a true game changer in consumer smart phone market - people stood in line for hours to get the phone. We also saw a historic gaming console - Nintendo Wii which outsold two very technically superior gaming consoles (PS3 and XBOX) sheerly on it's fun factor. And most recently we've seen the Amazon Kindle as a savior for the struggling giant; the Kindle has given Amazon a great shift in momentum. We also saw that the user's are looking for something new by the amazing success of NetBooks (small laptops!). So what has all this been leading to?

A savvy consumer who will expect nothing less then a perfect product that delivers the experience and features that are fit for the average user (not just the techie in your family). So all this hype is building to the "God" tablet - a semi revolutionary step that provides a unique and easy way for the user (us) to easily do things that we do most with a computing device (check email, facebook, twitter, casual games, watch funny videos, interact) and add to this a really sleek panel that is slightly larger then a cell phone with multicolor, long battery life and what you've got is a winner.

Many people have tried this market and have had success in niche segments, for example the table PCs have been successful in Education and Healthcare sector. The monchrome ebook readers have had their niche in early adopter/prosumer markets - but with Apple's clout and pricing power - they are the most likely to bring the product that customers "really" want at the price point that'll be very attractive to them.

So let's see what hapens at the Apple event tomorrow.
